Founded in 2015, Wakefield District Raiders (formerly Knottingley Raiders) are proud to be the only American football club serving Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and the Five Towns. Since joining the BAFA National Leagues for our first full season in 2017, the Raiders have continued to grow year after year, building a strong reputation both on and off the field.

As a community-focused, member-led club, we are committed to developing American football across the region and creating opportunities for people to get involved in this exciting sport. Our senior team currently competes in the BAFA NFC 2 Midlands Division, representing Wakefield with pride, passion, and determination.

At the heart of the Raiders is a welcoming and inclusive culture that values the enjoyment, development, and well-being of every player. We are passionate about competing at the highest level while ensuring that football remains accessible to all. Each season, we celebrate the arrival of new players from all backgrounds, ages, abilities, and experience levels, helping them discover the camaraderie, challenge, and excitement that make American football such a unique sport.
